Custom Window Treatments by Hirshfield’s
As the employees at Hirshfield’s can attest, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a room transform from the “before” to the “after.” Whether that means simply applying a fresh coat of paint to the walls, adding a new rug to anchor a room or, in this case, adding custom window treatments to complete the look of a space.
Hirshfield’s customer, Sharon, worked with Dawn in the Hirshfield’s Shop at Home department to create these beautiful custom, Accordia Fold window treatments.
Dawn was very helpful in going over all the options with me, and then in deciding the details of the draperies. It took awhile for me to find the right fabric, and she was very patient and helpful along the way.
Sharon said the reason she was shopping for new window treatments was because of a larger renovation project they were doing on their house – replacing all of the windows and doors. The new windows would be a different size, so the wood shutters you see in the photo above would no longer work.
When considering new window treatments, Sharon was looking for something clean, simple and contemporary. Privacy and light control were also big factors as the South-facing windows are floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall. She knew she wanted a drapery, but was concerned about how much of the view this type of window treatment would cover up when opened up.
After doing some research and working with Dawn at Hirshfield’s, Sharon decided on the Accordia Fold window treatments. She found that the Accordia Fold gave her the drapery look she wanted with a tight enough “stack” to still showcase the windows’ fantastic view when opened.
It was fun to see them finally installed, after just imagining them for so long. We’re very happy with them. The rooms look “complete” now.
